UPDATED: Kano LG Chair Empowers 2,000 Constituents With Over N190m

The Chairman of Ungogo local government Council of Kano state, Engr. Abdullahi Garba Ramat has offered scholarship to 1,500 students.

Solacebase reports that Ramat also disbursed N10,000 empowerment to 500 youths each whom are mostly hunters, 27 brand new luxury cars, 100 motorcycles and 50 sewing machines.

Speaking at the local government secretariat, on Monday, the Chairman, said the activity is part of his government effort to bring his constituents closer into active participation in the affairs of the local council so that they can reap the dividends of democracy.

“As we are used to, this is yet another aspect of our continued commitment to realizing all inclusiveness in our government system. As you can see, even my deputy is part of the gesture and this is just the beginning.”

Engr. Abdullahi Ramat said the program was tagged ”Gawuna/Garo Campaign Empowerment flag off, geared towards ensuring that APC wins the 2023 general elections.

According to him the whole empowerment materials are over N190m.

On his part, Kano state Deputy Governor, Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna commended the local government chairman for what he termed as extraordinary gesture.

“You are special and extraordinary local government chairman. We were at the position and knew what it takes and the burden of running a local government council.

“Despite the challenges that comes with the position, you did not abandoned your people both those who are involved in the day to day activities and the needy. Congratulations for being a professional and the sky will be the beginning.”

He further conveyed the state governor’s heartfelt well wishes to the beneficiaries and entire people of Ungogo local government while urging the beneficiaries to make judicial use of the intervention.

Among the cars distributed are 5 Peugeot 206, one Peugeot Citroen, one Honda Civic, one land Rover, one Toyota Corolla, Six Honda Accord (discussion continue), one Honda Accord (Anaconda), one Toyota Sienna,   six Mercedes Benz of different models, one Nissan Frontier and one Toyota picnic.
