ASUU To Appeal Court Order On Resumption

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has said it is set to appeal the order by the National Industrial Court (NIC) directing the suspension of its seven months old strike. In a terse statement signed by the Chairman of Lagos Zone of the union, Adelaja Odukoya on Wednesday, the union urged its members to “remain calm.” The union said its lawyer is already filing an appeal. The House of Representatives has urged the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to direct a thorough investigation into alleged killing of Miss Ummulkulthum Buhari, by a Chinese national, Mr Geng Quanrong in Kano. The resolution was sequel to a unanimous adoption of a motion by Rep. Kabiru Rurum (APC-Kano state) at the plenary on Wednesday. 2023: Four NNPP Candidates Dump Kwankwaso For Tinubu

Four candidates of New Nigeria Peoples Party(NNPP) in Osun State, contesting in the 2023 general election on Wednesday, declared support for the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Bola Tinubu. The NNPP candidates are Clement Bamigbola, Osun Central Senatorial candidate; Bolaji Akinyode, Osun West Senatorial zone; Olalekan Fabayo and Oluwaseyi Ajayi of Boluwaduro/Ifedayo/Ila, and Ijesa South Federal Constituencies respectively.
